Kiwifruit - Actinidia chinensis 'Mutate' (male) 200mm
‘Mutate' is a male cultivar of the Actinidia chinensis (kiwifruit) vine grown exclusively as a heavy-duty pollinator. Because kiwifruit vines are dioecious (meaning individual plants are either strictly male or strictly female), 'Mutate' is planted to provide the vital pollen necessary for female vines to set fruit. One 'Mutate' male vine can effectively pollinate anywhere from 4 to 8 nearby female vines. Like all Kiwi vines, it requires a sturdy trellis, fence, or pergola setup installed prior to planting to support its substantial weight.
Fruit Colour: None. It does not bear any fruit itself and is used solely for cross-pollination.
Fruit Shape: N/A

Wind Tolerant: Protect from strong winds.
Leaf colour: Deep, matte forest green.
Leaf Variegation pattern: No
Size of leaf: 15-20c, heart-shaped
